Theodora Geraets is, in addition to an award-winning violinist, Member of the jury of important violin competitions and Professor at the Royal Conservatory in the Hague.
She studied successively in Amsterdam, New York, Dusseldorf and London, with Davina van Wely, Dorothy Delay, Rosa Fain and Kyung-Wha Chung and won a.o. the Max Rostal price, the national violin competition Oscar Back, the Aspen International Violin Competition (Colorado USA), the Juilliard violin competition in New York and the prestigious Dutch music prize.
As a soloist Theodora performed with leading orchestras all over the world amongst others the Royal Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra, the Dutch Philharmonic Orchestra, the Rotterdams Philharmonic Orchestra, the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, the Aspen Philharmonic Orchestra and the WDR Sinfonieorchester.
She was 6 years 1st concertmaster of the Limburg Symphony Orchestra, she frequently performed for radio and television, made various CD productions for Ottavo, Channel classics, and Sony and is part of various ensembles.
In 2014, Theodora Geraets will give concerts and masterclasses in o.a. Italy, Germany, Norway, Portugal, Brazil and Chile.
In the Autumn of 2015 she is reinvited to give concerts and masterclasses in Brazil and Germany. She is also invited by iClassical Academy to take part in the Hubermann week in Israel (Sept 27 to Oct 4) as a teacher as well as a performer.
She is further consultant and examiner of the Bangkok Symphony Music School and a visiting lecturer at the Rangsit University in Thailand.
